FAQs

I’ve never played tennis before. What’s the best way to start?

For an adult, the best way is to start with a private lesson. You’ll have an introduction to the very basics of tennis including equipment. For a junior, we highly recommend a few private lessons before jumping into a group setting so that you can understand the structure of class and lay a solid foundation.

Where are lessons taught?

Second Serve Tennis teaches exclusively at Pen Park.

What happens if it rains?

We try to notify at least an hour before the lesson starts via email or text. If the lesson has started and it starts to rain, the lesson will be a full charge.

How is payment made?

Invoices are sent via email before the lesson and can be paid with credit card or Apple Pay.

What is your pricing?

Prices vary between private lessons (assistant versus head coach) and group classes. To inquire, please email.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

For group classes, there are no refunds issued. Cancellations made due to inclement weather will be fully refunded and credit is available up to 4 month after the cancellation. Classes that start and it starts to rain will be a full charge. Clients are notified via email within an hour of class. For private lessons, cancellations by the student must be made more than 24hrs before the scheduled lesson time or payment is still due. Payment that isn’t received within 24hrs of the lesson will have late fee added.

I signed up my child for a group session but will miss a week due to traveling. Do I get a refund?

No, invoices are paid in full up front. If your child misses a class due to sickness, a credit will be applied towards the next group class or lesson within 4 months of the cancellation.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! If you normally have a private lesson, this will become a semi-private lesson. If your friend is dropping into a group session class, they will be required to pay the drop in fee. All students must sign a liability waiver before taking a lesson or class.

If my children are different ages, can they be in the same class?

It depends on their level. If they are at the same level, they can be in the same group class. If they are at different levels, they will be in different group classes. If they would like to take a private lesson together, there is the option to take it together or split the lesson.
